Nano silver or ionic silver has been widely used for antibacterial and deodorant of underwear. However, a large amount of silver ions or nano-silver released during the washing process may be discharged into the environment with the waste water of the washing machine, which not only causes a large amount of waste of precious metal silver, but also may pollute the environment. Recently, researchers at the University of Massachusetts in the United States have proposed that a filter device can be added at the end of the washing machine drain to filter silver ions, which has good practical value.

The author's specific practice is to add a cationic sub-exchange resin to the drain end of the washing machine so that the cationic silver can be directly absorbed. For example, a sulfur-based functional ion exchange resin can efficiently absorb a small amount of silver ions, and can efficiently remove silver ions under appropriate pH conditions.
